Default Banner
When the device’s browser can't handle a Phluant expandable ad, a default banner must be served. This banner should not have any “Expand” messaging since it is a general 'Click here' banner and must be GIF, JPEG, or animated GIF.
On-Click or Hot-Spot Sizes
This On-Click hot-spot is the area of the banner that causes a panel to display. The hot-spots should span the entire width of the banner to increase likeliness of interaction.
Expanded Panel Size and Dimensions
The panel may not extend more than 250 pixels beyond the bottom edge of the banner. The width of the panel may not exceed the width of the banner. The panel may not expand horizontally. The following limits designate the maximum initial load size of 40k.
Expand Panels: Contents
HTML-based content, allowing almost any content that can go on a normal web page, along these guidelines:
- Must be valid HTML for all browsers and devices. You must perform your own validation and rendering testing.
- No header tags (neither start or end tags), including the following: <html>, <head>, <title>, <base>, <style>, <script>, <meta>, <body>
- Cannot include style sheets or style tags; however, inline style attributes should be used
- Cannot include script tags due to various nuances of script within the panels; however many commonly "scripted" items, such as form validation and some on-click events can be added by Phluant support staff, just ask your Phluant sales representative for those features to be added
- Include all images in ad delivery. Code may not reference external image files hosted on other sites or servers.
- Optimize or compress images as much as possible
- Divide large images into multiple, smaller images
- Individual image files should be 8K or less in file size
- Total graphics file size should target a maximum of 20K per panel
- Width and Height attributes are required on all elements that support them, especially images, since this improves the rendering performance of the panels
